Volunteer Appointments to Markham Advisory Committees

Get Involved! Markham Needs You!

Volunteers! - The Town of Markham needs you to get involved in the process of governing our Town and charting our future. Volunteer positions are available on a number of advisory committees, which are listed below.

Apply now to use your talents and interests for the benefit of our community. Applicants must be residents of Markham and at least 18 years of age. Council may conduct personal interviews for these positions.


Advisory Committee Vacancies

Volunteer positions are available on a the following advisory committees:

  • Cycling and Pedestrian Committee
    Committee meets once a month. Persons with interest in cycling and pedestrian issues an asset.

  • Heintzman House Community Centre Board (Thornhill Area)Committee meets on the last Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Persons with interest in the operation of a hertiage community centre is an asset; prefeence will be given to Thornhill residents. 


Read a summary of the Terms of Reference for each advisory committee. Advisory committee meeting are open to the public. Please refer to the 4 Week Rolling Calendar if you wish to attend an upcoming meeting, prior to submitting your application form.

Applications accepted by mail, in person, by fax to 905-479-7771, or by email to abrouwer@markham.ca, no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010.
