Certificates of Completion |
The Building Standards Department conducts inspections during the construction of projects issued a building permit. Our inspection program reflects the prescribed and additional inspections required by the Ontario Building Code. Property owners and builders are obligated by the Building Code to request inspections at specific stages of construction. Once the inspection program has been completed for a specific building permit, a Certificate of Completion will be available as a confirmation that the inspection program has been completed and occupancy is granted.
A Certificate of Completion will be issued once the following conditions have been satisfied;
- All prescribed and additional inspections as required by the Building Code have been conducted,
- A Request for Building Permit Information – Certificate of Completion form has been completed, and
- All fees have been paid in connection with the Request for Building Permit Information.
It's advisable to keep a copy of the Certificate of Completion for future financial or real estate transactions involving the property. To obtain a Certificate of Completion, please click here (PDF-85k) and complete the Request for Building Permit Information. Once completed print the form and mail or bring it with your payment of $80, to Kathy Roach, Building Inspection Administrator, Building Standards Department, 101 Town Centre Blvd, Markham, ON, L3R 9W3, Fax 905-415-7501.
